This house was love at first sight for us. We both fell in love with the yard first and basically had our minds made up to buy before we ever saw the inside. We knew it would be a lot of work to get it where we wanted it, but we decided it was worth it to have something we could call our own. It'll probably be years and years before we're ever finished (if you ever really do 'finish' a house), but we've put our heart and sweat into every space and tried to do most everything ourselves. There's a lot of pride in that. Through our hard work (I'll admit, it's mostly Daniel's hard work) and love (I'm pretty sure he still loves me despite all the crazy ideas I come up with to keep him busy), we have really managed to make this house a home.
